2015 FEI European Championship Reining at Aachen:

Austria sends Two Individual Riders

Austrian reiners have been internationally successful for many year icluding their team bronze medal at the 2013 FEI European Championship. This year, Austria will not be represented by a team in Aachen, but will send two high class riders: NRHA World Champion Non Pro Tina Kunstner-Mantl and NRHA Professional Klaus Lechner.
Tina Kunstner-Mantl
Tina Kunstner-Mantl is one of the most successful Non Pros in Europe. She and her husband Klaus Mantl operate the renowned Mohr Life Resort in Lermoos / Austria as well as their breeding and training facility Jacpoint Quarter Horses. Tina has represented her country at international Championships since Reining became an FEI discipline. She was part of the Austrian team of the 2002 WEG as well as of the World Nations Cup, where Austria claimed silver. At the FEI European Championships in 2005 and 2013, she earned team bronze. Tina is a multiple Bronze Trophy Champion, Italian Derby Non Pro Champion and 2014 NRHA World Champion Non Pro.

For Aachen, Tina qualified to excellent horses: Heza Sure Whiz and Nu Chexomatic. The 15-year-old AQHA stallion Heza Sure Whiz is one of Topsail Whiz‘ most successful sons in Europe and a proven sire himself. His NRHA LTE are more than $ 95,000. Heza Sure Whiz was Grand Prix EquitáLyon Non Pro Res. Champion twice, NRHA European Champion, 23 Classic Non Pro Champion, Americana Non Pro Champion and WEG finalist.

Nu Chexomatic was 2013 NRHA World Champion Open with NRHA Million Dollar Rider Cody Sapergia in the saddle. Tina rode the 8-year-old Palomino by Nu Chex To Cash to the 2014 Italian Derby Championship Non Pro L4.
Klaus Lechner
The 23-year-old NRHA Professional operates his own facility Lechner Performance Horses in Volders / Austria. Klaus already represented Austria a spart of the FEI Young Riders team and also was an individual rider at the 2014 WEG. Klaus Lechner was 2014 Austrian State Reining Champion and took team gold at the Austrian State Championships. He is a multiple AQHA Austrian Champion, NRHA Breeders Futurity Reserve Champion Ltd. Open and third Open, Czech Futurity Champion, Austrian Futurity and Maturity Champion, European Derby Champion L1 and NRHA European Affiliate Champion Ltd. Open

For Aachen, Klaus qualified two very successful horses: 9-year-old Cody Rooster Delmaso (by Ricochet Rooster) with whom he was State Champion, and 8-year-old KH Hes A Smart Jac (by Smart Spook) with whom he won the European Derby and whom he rode at the WEG.

From August 11 until 23, 2015, the renowned Aachen Soers facility will host the FEI European Championships in five disciplines for the first time including reining. The team competition and first individual qualifier is scheduled for August 14, starting at 8.30 a.m. The second individual qualifier will follow on August 15, starting at 6.15 p.m. On August 16, the top riders will meet again for the individual final which will start at 10 a.m. All disciplines are covered lived by TV teams from ZDF, ARD and WDR.
